DiscJockeys.com was proud to host the 3rd annual DiscJockeys.com Poker Tournament during the MBLV.09 conference.  We have over 80 DJs fighting it out to win cash and prizes.  We want to thank all of the players and especially our sponsors: DJ Inteligence, DJSkirts, Odssey, RocknRoller, MyPartyPlanner.com, Planning.ProDJ.com, ADJA, PromoOnly, American DJ, Virtual DJ, and the Riviera.

DiscJockeys.com was proud to take part in the 1st annual Boris Diaw Celebrity Poker Tournament during the NBA All Star Week.  Hundreds of poker players help raise money for the Babac'ards charity.  Many celebrities and professional athletes took part in the event including Eva Longoria-Parker from Desperate Housewife’s and Tony Parker from the San Antonio Spurs. 

For over 10 years I DJ Rudy Duron have been a mobile DJ. I get all kinds of calls. I got a call the other day from a lady that said,"" I'm getting quotes on a DJ", she wanted a price on DJ and Karaoke for an event 3 weeks away. She said that she had a price of $400. I hate these calls, but I deal with them. You can usually tell the people that listen and the ones that tone you out. She toned me out. I found out that she was the caterer. If she chooses a terrible DJ she doesn't realize that the bad decision falls on her shoulders. I wanted to ask her if the people that hired her choose her because she was the cheapest. I have realized that there are a lot of people getting into the DJ business.

DiscJockeys.com wants to congratulate Dennis Richtmyer of Soundstorm DJ’s for winning a Super Gold advertising package.  Dennis was among 29 fellow DJ’s at 2nd meeting of the Charlotte ADJA chapter.   The event was a great success and included presentations from Dr. Drax and members from the American DJ Supply.

Members of the DiscJockeys.com family appeared at Wilson Elementary in Mesa, Arizona to help raise money for a new playground.  The kids were treated to huge bounce houses, cotton candy, face painting, carnival games, and great entertainment from the DJs of DiscJockeys.com. 

The 2^nd Annual DiscJockeys.com Poker Tournament was held on February 13^th, 2008 at the Riviera Casino during the MBLV.08 convention.  This year’s tournament brought DJ’s from around the world, including some of the top wedding djs in the industry.

The first mistake people make is they don’t put that much emphasis on the DJ.  But the DJ is the key to making your event a success or a dud.  I was recently at an event and the customer spent more on table linens then on their DJ.  The tables looked great but the party was a complete bore.  These tips will help make sure you ask the right questions when hiring your DJ.
