Damm sound is a partnership between Paul Damm and Darren "Sunny" Warkentin. Paul and Darren have always had a passion for music, and have been involved with music and entertainment since they were in high school. They actually met each other at a wedding that Sunny was doing the music for in 1993. Paul was attending the wedding of a good friend, and knew Sunny's older brother who was Paul's fraternity brother. Sunny was still in high school and working for a mobile entertainment business as a DJ.
Paul started a mobile DJ business of his own later that year, and partnered up with Sunny when he got to college the following year. They did weddings, college frat parties, and local college bars and clubs... along with just about anything else where someone wanted to have some music or an MC!
When Paul graduated from school in 1997, he left the business in Sunny's capable hands. Sunny carried it on in Kansas until he graduated.
Paul moved to California to work in the entertainment industry. Sunny also moved to California a couple of years later after he graduated to be a sound mixer. He brought with him one of their systems and they continued to do occasional gigs on the side over the years. Needless to say, they each have over a decade of experience and have done hundreds of gigs!
Eventually, the equipment they had purchased in college was not up to their standards... So in the summer of 2009 they did their research and purchased a whole new top of the line system... and now they're excited to show it off! They did a couple of weddings over the summer and love how everything looks and sounds.
